About Buyer Brokers of Boulder:

In the late 1980s, Realtors were
beginning to feel the pinch of a consumer movement demanding equal status for
buyers. Buyer Brokers of Boulder were a part of the early "pioneers"
when it opened the second exclusive buyer agency office in the nation in 1990 as
a franchise known then as Buyer's Market, later as Buyer's Resource. The company
has been independent since 1996 as Buyer Brokers of Boulder, but the commitment
to real estate buyers has not changed. We have worked exclusively for
hundreds of Buyers since 1990.
Many Realtors® use phrases
in their advertising such as "...member of the Million Dollar Club" or
"Top Producer" in an effort to stay ahead of the crowd and to convince
Buyers and Sellers to use them instead of their competitors. We don't boast
about our sales conquests because we don't operate as salespeople. We are not
trying to sell houses - we help our Buyers buy houses. We have no stake in
whether or not any house sells. Our commitment to our clients is that we work to
make sure it's the best house for them.
We know that just the practice of representing only
one party in a real estate transaction sets us apart. We've taken it even
further by never representing Sellers. Don't get us wrong - we like Sellers.
Some of our best clients are also Sellers and there would be nothing to buy
without them! But we are convinced that the service we offer Buyers is far
better because we only work for Buyers. Hopping around back and forth between
Buyers and Sellers causes conflicts and confusion for the best of agents and
their clients - ours are never confused about who we're working for.
Our clients tell us there's another important thing
that sets us apart: the attitude that our clients' interests come before our
own, always. One's true attitude can't be faked - at least not for long. We've
found that the agents who possess the ability to put the interests of others
ahead of their own have acquired the conviction to do that from values learned
long before they ever became Realtors®. Almost any agent will say
they can "act" as your buyer agent. We're not acting.
About me:
I moved from Sweden to
Boulder in 1994 to join my wife who is a scientist with the University of
Colorado. At the time, I worked as a software developer and project manager for
various companies, designing and developing computerized administrations and
networks. For the first years here I managed a project setting up and
maintaining a network of UV-instruments, collecting scientific data.
We came to Buyer Brokers of Boulder when
we decided it was time to buy a home in Boulder County. During my own buying
process, I became acutely aware of the way a buyer's advantages are enhanced by
having his own agent represent him in any real estate purchase. The concept was
very much in line with my own values and philosophies.
When I, in early 1998,
made the decision to change careers, my move into real estate and exclusive
Buyer representation was a natural transition. My ongoing goals are to be a staunch
advocate and caring ally and negotiator for my clients and to help them find the
home that is right for them at the lowest price and best terms possible.
I hold the ABR
(Accredited Buyer Representative) designation and am a member of BARA (Boulder
Area Realtor® Association, CAR (Colorado Association of Realtors®, NAEBA (National
Association of Exclusive Buyer Agents) and NAR (National Association of
Realtors®).
Today's technology have made it possible to do Real Estate in
a new way and I have no problems handle all the new tools that are accessible,
such as email, internet, scanning, digital photography and the web.
I enjoy playing golf, skiing and travel and I have the most
fun when I do any of those activities together with my son Carl.
